Rev Joel Schofield

Rev. Joel D Schofield

Joel became our moderator (while we search for a pastor) in October 2023 following the retirement of our Pastor/Minister Rev Philip Wickenden.

As moderator Joel support the leadership team and the church, drawing upon his leadership skills, he also encourages the church to remain dependant on God through prayer and adherence to the word of God.

Joel is married to Natalie, and Pastors a local church; Stone Baptist Church, who have a close relationship with DBC.

Alma Campbell

Alma is our Deacon for Prayer. Alma is keen to see the church grow spiritually, to encourage those who do not have a relationship with Jesus to find one, and help them become a part of our church family.

Previously a nursery assistant and bank clerk, now retired, fills her time with; church work, her daughter and granddaughter, and husband Lloyd.

Kevin Hemmings

Kevin is a church Deacon.

Julius Adisa

Julius is our Fabric Deacon.

Julius hopes to see God's Kingdom established and welcomes new believers with open arms. Julius is an ordained pastor with a Bachelor's in Theology and an MBA. He also works as an entrepreneur and part-time bus driver.

He and Janet have been married since 1987 and have three grown children. They both hope the church positively impacts the community by spreading the message of Christ.

Murielle "Christy" Njomgang

Christy is our Church Secretary in addition to being a Deacon.

Oma Uwejamomere

Oma is our church Treasurer.

Oma is a devoted and cherished member of our church community and faithfully serves as a deacon. Her unwavering commitment to our congregation is truly inspiring.

Oma has a special heart for our children's Sunday School ministry, where her dedication shines brightly. Her passion for nurturing the spiritual growth of our youngest members is evident in her tireless efforts and warm guidance. As a faithful and steadfast member of our church, Oma's presence and contributions have made a lasting impact.

Jessica Mahabir

Jessica is our Safeguarding Trustee in addition to her role as a Deacon.

A proud mother of three and a grandmother also, Jessica has been married for over 35 years.

Jessica was nominated to take up the position of Deacon which and accepted as she knew it was a path to serve God and the Dartford Baptist Church in a more meaningful way.

Jessica is keen to contribute to the Church in any way God calls her to.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

Welcome to our Sunday morning service! We want to make sure you have a great experience during your visit, so we've put together some information for you.

Where and When

Our Sunday service begins at 10:30 am at our Church Building. If it's your first time, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to find a parking spot and get comfortable before the service starts. You'll be greeted by our Welcome Team...

After the service, we offer complimentary tea, coffee, and biscuits. This is an excellent opportunity to meet others and get to know the community.

Accessibility: We want everyone to feel welcome at our church, so we've made our building accessible for wheelchair users and those who need a sound loop. If you require assistance, please let one of our Welcome Team members know. We also have disabled toilets available at the back of the church.

Our Service

Our service begins with a team member welcoming you at 10:30 am. We sing 4-5 songs during the worship time, and someone from the congregation will lead us in prayer. Then, a member will read a small passage from the Bible before the sermon begins. We share news and notices about what’s going on in the life of the church. One of our leaders will deliver a Bible-based sermon applicable to our everyday lives. Finally, we end the service with a worship song. If you would like to receive prayer at the end of the service, you are welcome to do so.

What about my kids?

We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages:

Creche (0 months to 3 years). Children must be accompanied by their parents/grown-ups at all times.
Junior Church (3-15). Where we study the Brite* Curriculum from Awana.
Young people (15+ years) stay in with the adult church.

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. At the end of the notices, someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to their various groups. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy.

Getting Connected

Small Groups and Prayer Meetings

While Sundays are great for meeting new people, it's in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have small home groups that meet once a month.

We also have prayer meetings throughout the month:

2nd Tuesday of the Month, at 10:30am, meeting at church. Please rsvp to Alma if possible.
Last Tuesday of the Month, at 10:30am, meeting at church. Please rsvp to Alma if possible.
2nd Thursday of the month, at 7pm, meeting at the church. Please rsvp to Jessica is possible.
Last Thursday of the month, at 7pm, meeting at the church. Please rsvp to Jessica is possible.

Serving and Volunteering
